Gene Robinson   Gene Robinson
   

Mr. Robinson is a general aviation pilot with an instrument rating who started flying while in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet program. He also has an airframe and power plant rating and inspection authorization. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University and Iowa State University with a bachelor and masters degree in electrical engineering.

Upon graduating from Mississippi State Mr. Robinson worked for Collins Radio where he was part of the design team that developed the first solid-state VHF radio for the airlines.

While at Collins he developed the broadband matching techniques and RF hybrid microelectronic technology for solid-state transmitters. He joined Texas Instruments where he was involved in a number of advanced development programs that involved a number of technologies.
 

 


These programs included development of the Microwave Landing System, Loran C navigation systems for the marine and aviation sectors, GPS receivers and strap-down GPS navigation systems. He also led the activity to obtain the first IFR certification for a general aviation Loran C navigation receiver. He has been involved in the development of advanced missile systems and broadband communication systems. He retired from Texas Instruments as a Senior Fellow in 1998 and currently is engaged in communication and military systems consulting.


Mr. Robinson is a director of the Aero Country airport board, an officer in the Collin County Aviation Collation and a member of the Board of Director for Texas Aviation Association.
