In the spring of 2011, TxDOT safety director Bill Gunn received an exclusive tour of the new Supermarine Aircraft Company factory located in Cisco, Texas. Supermarine Aircraft is an established aircraft kit manufacturer. For the past 20 years, Supermarine has developed and successfully marketed the Mark 26B Spitfire, a 90% all metal replica of the famous WWII warbird from their headquarters in Brisbane, Australia. The aircraft is powered by the General Motors LS2 V8 Corvette engine which delivers 430 HP.

Following an invitation from our government, O’Sullivan is opening this branch factory in Cisco, Texas to help develop this popular kitplane closer to his customer base. This move will also help the Texas economy.
